This month is dedicated to my father in honor of Father's Day. Over the years I have written several pieces for or about my dad - some lighthearted and others more serious. I have included one of each for this month, but both show his great wisdom and the profound affect he has had on my life. It is often said, that our dad's are our first example of our Father in heaven. If you read them with Him in mind, you will see that it is often true. "Grandchildren are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers." Proverbs 17:6

You taught me morals and a sense for knowing right from wrong. You taught me how to be an individual ~ to find and express my own ideas. You showed me how to be courageous and strong, but also to appreciate softness and loving tenderness. You taught me to love myself... who I am... and how to show love to others. You were always strong when I felt helpless and gentle when I needed comforting. You were firm when I needed correction, guiding with tenderness. You always knew when to stop being a "parent" and just be my friend. I always knew your expectations were high for me, and I strived to please you, but I was never afraid to talk to you about my failings because I knew you would be caring and understanding. This trust and respect make our relationship special, and I am truly blessed.                                                                                                              Copyright © 1989-2006  Julie Schwartz

Everything I Ever Needed to Know about Selling

I Learned from My Father on a Fishing Trip

Use really good bait.

Find the right spot.

Throw your line out there a few times, then wait.

You have to be very patient.

If you don't get any bites, try somewhere else.

Always go after the big fish, but remember a lot of little ones can add up to a fine dinner.

It's not the equipment you're using, it's your technique.

Patience and persistence - that's all you really need.

Don't tell everyone your secrets or they'll catch all the fish before you get there.

Remember, you're out there to have fun and relax!
